Rare Disease Day 2019
    Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics and Georgian Society of Medical Genetics and Epigenetics celebrated International Rare Disease Day (February 28) with by conduction a conference. The conference covered current issues related to rare diseases, including availability and challenges of diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases. The winner of the Essay Contest Ana Mikaberidze (TSMU, Medical Faculty, 5th year students) was also announced on the conference. The topic of the essay was dedicated to the role of biomarkers in the diagnosis of rare diseases. The contest winner received full scholarship from CENTOGENE AG to attend the conference Recent Advances in Rare Diseases (RARD2019) which will be held in Bogota (Columbia). Each participant of the essay contest was awarded with certificate of participation.
